Restaurants near French Trading Posts of Lake Pepin Historical Marker

Our waiter was fantastic and did a great job telling us about the menu and helped us pick a fantastic wine. This was my first experience there and it was perfect.

The four of us had exceptional food. The portions are extremely large. My husband and I shared the pork chop dinner and felt satisfied with just having half the meal and adding either a soup or a salad. The dessert portions are also huge, definitely a share size dessert. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly. The atmosphere is kind of loud. This is not a cheap restaurant but very good food and you get what you paid for.

I LOVE Five West. The menu is extensive with many varied dishes. The service is excellent. When we request specific seating (booth, no high-tops, outside, etc.) they have always accommodated us. The setting is up to date urban and active but not raucously loud. We have about two go-to restaurants in Rochester, and this is one. We are never disappointed there.

We had a great Christmas Eve lunch! The food was spot on. We had soups and salads that were very flavorful and more than plentiful. The service was spot on and the wine choices also had a reasonable variety, and very good. This place is certainly worth the drive down from the southeast metro. On one hand I hope nobody finds this gem, but on the other hand we want them to be successful so come check it out.

The food, service and ambience were outstanding at Chester’s. Our entire table enjoyed different walleye dishes and everyone was very happy with their entrees. Desserts were generous and delicious. The restaurant was crowded with large holiday groups but the overall noise level was moderate, snd for once I did not have trouble hearing my table mates conversation. Devin was an efficient and personable server and the manager stopped by our table to ensure we were being taken care of. Outstanding food, great service.
