Sokrates Greek Taverna on Winter Hey Lane in Horwich is a relaxed, friendly restaurant serving dishes from Greece, Cyprus and Eastern Mediterranean. The dining room has a light and easy-going ambience like a typical Greek Taverna. The focal point of the menu is the Greek Meze which is a selection of dishes served to the middle of the table for people to share over an hour or so. It's a great way to eat and experience a variety of flavours. The Meze can be tailored for vegetarians and for special diet restrictions such as gluten or dairy intolerance. On the A'la Carte menu one can find all the popular dishes like Mousaka, Stifado and delicious Souvlaki (skewers) and Lamb Koftas cooked on real charcoal. Home made desserts are very popular with Baklava and the Greek Yoghurt cheesecake. Sokrates Taverna also has an excellent selection of wines and beers from Greece and Cyprus.

Blacklock is a modern take of the Great British chophouse nestled in the corner of a Grade II listed textiles warehouse. We take the best meat in the country from the award-winning farmer and butcher Philip Warren in Cornwall. We cook chops simply over our charcoal grill with a little help from vintage Blacklock irons and serve it all up alongside cocktails from the trolley and wine on tap in our subterranean chop mecca. On Sundays we serve a Roast almost as good as Mum's. We have limited spaces for Walk-ins, so we encourage booking in advance to avoid disappointment during busy times.     A pre Christmas catch up with friends at the Travellers did not disappoint. The pub was warm & welcoming with fantastic service and we enjoyed a delicious Sunday Roast - the portions were so big we couldn’t fit in dessert (this time !) Would definitely recommend & will be back soon

    We lunched with friends who had never been to Albert’s and they were amazed at the quality and value for money of the food. The drinks were equally good value …£8 for an Espresso Martini is brilliant. We asked to change tables and they did this for us and without fuss. Our server was friendly and very competent and the decor and ambience were first class. You have gained two new customers who no doubt tell their friends, As for us, Albert’s has never let us down.

    Every time I go it’s amazing, not once have I been and not enjoyed the food the atmosphere the service. Nick and Christine efficient fabulous nothing is too much trouble. Get the Meze it’s good value for money and everything on it is amazing
