Contrary to popular belief, JJ's Restaurant is not named for popular owner Jimmy Frantzé. In 1985, Jimmy purchased JJ Malane's from his former business partner and the saloon's namesake. Malane's went away, but JJ's remained, and a West Plaza fine dining icon was born. Jimmy invested his enthusiasm and passion for exceptional contemporary American food, steaks and wine to build one of the finest restaurants in Kansas City just a block west of the Country Club Plaza. He helped create an environment that attracted and kept one of the most professional staffs in the region. We have an incredible dinner experience at Gram & Dunn! The restaurant was beautiful and festive and the menu was fantastic. But the best part of our experience was most certainly our waitress Andrea. She was outstanding! Extremely knowledgeable, so fun and engaging, knew the food and drinks so well and guided us well when we asked for help. She was an absolute delight! If you go here you should ask for her!

Our server, Chris, was amazingly knowledgeable and attentive. We started with the mussels and french fries for apps, then moved on the surf and turf and pork chop for our entrees. Both were prepared perfectly and delicious. There was only one gluten free desert, so the table split that dessert. It, too, was delicious.
