Theo & Sebastian who are brothers, started Smiths in the middle of a pandemic! We are seriously passionate about patties and are based in Bourton-On-The-water, also known as ‘Venice of the Cotswolds’. Our restaurant sits circa 30 guests making it a small, exclusive place to come and eat. Since opening, we have made it our mission to get our hands on the best possible ingredients. We also use dry aged beef with a great fat content supplied by Aubrey Allen, which marries up with our strong, unique flavour combinations giving you the ultimate bite! We cant forget about or delightful buns, which are handmade daily by a wonderful local baker. All the flour used for our buns is made up of Cotswold flour sourced from local farmers. So often a restaurant menu has very little I actually want to eat. Today at Quod I could have chosen many of the things on the menu! I chose one of the specials, a Caesar salad with king prawn and anchovies. Delicious, very grown up. Then yummy cheeses with crackers, chutney, celery and apple. And a bax colada. Great meal. Wonderful South African waitress. Great ambience. Expensive, but the cost of living crisis is reflected in the increase in restaurant prices.

We had lunch in the stag on a very busy day. All tables were full and we were allocated a table in the bar area. It was very comfortable and cosy apart from a draft from the windows (which you would expect in an old building, so it was no problem). The food was delicious and the service was good. I would definitely eat here again.
