Hayden Block Smoke & Whiskey is a bbq joint in the heart of Kensington, Calgary, Alberta. Smoking our meat from 10-14 hours, people love our brisket but we have a selection of meats, trays and sides to choose from. Join us inside or out if the weather permits, or on our backyard whiskey garden open year round. Drinkwise we’ve got the largest whiskey list in town, and an ever-evolving cocktail list anchored by our smokey old-fashioned. Executive Chef Domenic Tudda spent his childhood years learning of Italian cuisine while his family owned and operated Stromboli's restaurant in Calgary. He furthered his education by undergoing extensive culinary training in Italy and has been able to continue his parent's legacy of bringing unique and incredibly authentic Italian dining to Calgarians. One of the most revered of these ventures is Ristorante Pulcinella, where Domenic first earned distinction when his international training crossed borders and entered Calgary in the spring of 2006. One of the few APN (Associazione Pizzaioli Napolitani) certified pizzerias in the world, Domenic has been able to showcase his culinary skills, incredible wine knowledge, and passion for Italian cuisine to provide Calgary with a truly artistic, original and delicious experience not soon to be forgotten. Certainly not your classical North American pizza, it's definitely different, but definitely delicious.

    If you want authentic Italian food and authentic dining experience then this is where you want to go. My husband and I dined there for his birthday. If you are adventurous go for the chef's three course meal. Ours ended up being a five course meal counting the complimentary bruschetta upon seating and an extra the chef threw in. The chef decides each course on the go, so you don't know what is coming out of the kitchen. It was so fun and the food was top notch. Maybe not something for picky eaters but I would definitely do that again. The prices were very fair for the high quality servings we received. Next time I would love to try their pizza which is tailored to each region in Italy giving you a true taste of Italy. The staff was lovely and very professional. We never felt rushed. We went on a Tuesday night meaning it's probably less busy so we were afforded the time to dine there two hours. I believe a reservation is a 90 min time slot, so we definitely lucked out. Looking forward to returning with friends.

    Great place for a quiet dinner. They held a great table for us in front of the fireplace. The staff was very attentive. A really nice atmosphere. The food was very, very good as well. The selection was a bit limited for my wife but overall it was a wonderful experience
