On my visit, I began with an exquisite Rillettes de Porc with some off-menu toasted bread. I followed this with an indulgent Bœuf Bourguignon accompanied by a tangy Gratin Dauphinois and fresh Haricot Vert. The staff were an absolute delight—attentive, friendly, and passionate about their work. They were happy to make recommendations, explaining food combinations with detail and enthusiasm. Every interaction felt personal, adding an extra layer of warmth to my visit. The restaurant offered subtle touches of a French bistro, a cosy yet sophisticated charm. It's perfect for both intimate dinners and lively group get-togethers. It's not budget dining, but the quality of the food, impeccable service, and overall experience justify the cost. We have a lovely meal at the jolly fisherman. This was our second visit and the food, service and overall experience was as good as our first visit. Would highly recommend this restaurant.

It was our first time and it did not disappoint. Staff were friendly and helpful and the food arrived promptly. I had beef and it was amazing! The filled Yorkshire pudding was an unexpected crowd pleaser on our table! We’ve already booked a table for next week and I’ll be happy to work my way through the deserts menu!

Everything from arriving for pre dinner drinks to the meal was absolutely superb. Bar area and restaurant are well furnished and immaculate. Staff are friendly without being overbearing. Simple, uncluttered tables, with a modern feel. The food was beautiful. We both had different starters, mains and desserts, and we couldn’t fault any of it. We did find it quite expensive, but the quality of the food was among the best we’ve had anywhere. It would be nice to see perhaps a set/fixed price menu for hotel guests, particularly mid week.

A good find and will certainly go back! We were sat in the restaurant bit which was nice. There was one lady working and she was busy but looked after us well!
