Market Place was opened in November 2011 in Mitchelstown, Co. Cork. John O Connor who has worked in the catering industry all his life opened Market Place. John is from Mitchelstown originally and studied Hotel & Catering Management in third level. Having worked in Hotels, Bars and Restaurants throughout Cork and Limerick for many years john decided to take the plunge and open his own Restaurant in his home town.The Restaurant has gone from strength to strength since opening always offering something new and fresh to the locality. We booked a table of 4 for st Stephens night and it was extremely busy but the staff were so helpful and efficient and the food was amazing would highly recommend. We went out for dinner but ended up staying out the music and dj were excellent

2 of the 8 party had fillet stake, one was perfect the other was dry and tasted like it was reheated , other than that the experience was lovely.

Absolutely fantastic experience, beautiful food, lovely atmosphere and great service. The only thing I could fault is that the staff were a little too quick to clear our plates, I think everyone at the table should be finished eating before they clear the plates. Otherwise outstanding 👍👍
