Experience dining approximately 30 feet below ground in historic caverns that were hand built in the 1800's. Accidentally discovered in 2018 during the building of our parent restaurant, Hudson and Essex, we have refurbished the caverns once used to store beer before air conditioning into a one of a kind dining experience. Every Friday and Saturday night we provide an 8 course dinner with wine pairings from our home winery ( Cypress Hill Winery ) using wines made with California grapes. Prepaid reservation only. Great food and service! Interesting menu items. Restaurant was full and loud. We made a reservation and were given a table by the front door (drafty/cold). They punish people who pay with credit cards, but it is hidden in the fine print. We didn't even know about it until we got the bill and the amounts for the various items were surprising (they put the cash price of items on the menu, then added a surcharge to all items when they printed the bill for us). It is annoying practice. We understand that credit cards create additional cost, but restaurant owners should make this practice clear and transparent in many ways (including on the menu) so that customers know to bring cash. Had a good experience overall.
