Martin was most welcoming and for that alone we will be back. It was a busy service. Starters were excellent, my friend enjoyed her fishcake with a perfectly poached egg. My shepherd’s pie was good. The creamed spinach was very good. A well chilled bottle of Chenin Blanc complemented the meal. Thank you. Overall a wonderful dining experience which we highly recommend!!

We found the food well presented and of excellent quality, very tasty. Staff were friendly, very professional and very proficient. Would definitely return.

Service was excellent. A very nice pub but it was a bit cold. Soup starter was very tasty but a little lacking in quantity. Overall very good.

The Countryman Inn is an absolute gem and a must-visit if you’re in Dorset. In my opinion, they serve the best carvery in the county—the meat is always tender, the vegetables perfectly cooked. The quality and variety are exceptional, and it’s fantastic value for money. The staff are welcoming, the atmosphere is warm and inviting, and it’s clear that a lot of care goes into this place. Whether you’re local or just passing through, this place is well worth a visit. Highly recommended!

Really enjoyed the Cote breakfast on New Year’s Day. Excellent food, very pleasant and efficient staff - just a little noisy. This is as a result of sound bouncing off all the hard surfaces. We recently attended similar restaurants that have installed ceiling baffles that improved the noise significantly.
