- MMatthew TVIPChicago / Illinois •4 reviews5.0Dined 1 day agoTalia was absolutely amazing! Perfect amount of attentive, knowledgeable and helpful, friendly with a great smile, and perfectly timed times each course. The food was on point, however, even if it hadn’t had been so good, would come back just for Talia’s stellar service.More infoThe EviePrice: Expensive• American• River North (Chicago)•4.8

- KKendallChicago / Illinois •2 reviews5.0Dined 7 days agoWow. Literally the best restaurant I've been to in Chicago, or maybe evenly matched with Topolobampo. We sat at the kitchen counter - not sure why anyone would sit anywhere else. So wonderful watching everything being created, and it made us want to try things we hadn't ordered, so we will be back. The food was absolutely perfect. Perfect blends of flavors, perfect cook on both proteins, absolutely excellent presentation and delivery. We ordered an appetizer called Tetela, which was a delightful and plentiful plate, and the chicken tings used int eh dish was savory mouth-watering deliciousness. My husband ordered the salmon which was perfectly cooked and with excellent accompanying garnishes. My shortrib dish was absolutely astonishing, and the salsa verde on the side was perfection. The tortillas - wow! Maybe the best ones I've ever had outside of Mexico. The drinks were amazing. I had never had a Mexican wine before and I can tell you I was absolutely shocked at how good they were. The wine steward was very knowledgeable and made the decision very easy for us. But the best thing about the drinks was the cocktail called "pibil". I will be sad for the rest of my life that there is only one place I can get this drink. I believe this is an absolutely perfect cocktail (at least for me) and I would drink it every day if I could. Absolutely legendary drink. Perfect combination of flavors, including the very flavorful rim which just brought everything together perfectly. The service was spectacular - just attentive enough and obviously quite caring, but not intrusive or constant. Every person we interacted with was kind and helpful, and intent on ensuring our experience was pleasurable. The entire experience was just wonderful, and I plan to return to sample more of their delicious food, absolutely get the pibil cocktail, and enjoy every moment start to finish.More infoTzucoPrice: Moderate• Mexican• River North (Chicago)•4.7
- NNancyVIPChicago / Illinois •61 reviews5.0Dined on 13 Feb 2025What a treat to rediscover RL after moving from Chicago a few years ago! On a bitter cold and snowy day, we decided on a last minute late lunch and had a marvelous meal. Our server, Amanda was outstanding, personable and enthusiastically answered my husband's questions about the walleye, which he throughly enjoyed. It was light and flavorful and deemed as good as (though he meant better) than the shore lunches he had while fishing in Canada. I enjoyed the off the menu special crab cake that was sumptuous and delicious to the last bite....better than the ordinary restaurant fare. Though we usually like to read the dessert menu and then pass so we can smugly congratulate ourselves on our willpower, we gave in this day when Amanda told us about the peanut butter cheesecake-like texture presented as a small cake shape and drizzled with chocolate. Boy if there was ever a time to deviate from our cautious approach to desserts, this was it! This was how do they describe it, "smack your mama good?" That was it. So good we talked about it on our way back home to Michigan...the entire visit this time renewed our love for Chicago and the little moments like this that mean so much. A great way to spend some time during a classic urban winter snow storm. Thank you Amanda and the talented RL chef!More infoRL RestaurantPrice: Expensive• American• Gold Coast / Streeterville•4.8
