As a core pillar of our mission, TAKOI operates HiO Farm which is located just a mile north of the restaurant. During the height of farm season, the restaurant highlights dishes prepared with HiO produce utilizing the techniques and flavors inspired by Thailand and beyond. TAKOI, originally KATOI, began as a food truck in 2014, evolved into an Ann Arbor pop-up, and landed as a proper restaurant at 2520 Michigan Avenue in March of 2016. Our first thought for a pre game brunch. We love the eggs Benedict- simply the best- and the rest of the menu is great! Service is fantastic. Billy is such a great host and rep for the restaurant. It’s lively and fun with a great location. A gem in downtown Detroit

Service was wonderful! We ordered a few different things and they were all good, nothing super fantastic but nothing was bad. We loved the big shakes! The decorations inside were great. The only two things I will mention, the music was very loud and there was a bit of a wait to check in with the hostess, but it was very busy tonight. Overall a great dining experience and we will be back!

Burrata, crab cakes, carrots, corn, filet with zip sauce, and chocolate temptation were all very good. Great ambience and service. A bit pricy but all fine dining is in today's economy. Will be back for sure.

Our advice is: dont put too much effort on deciding, as everything is absolutely amazing! We've been coming here everytime we came to Detroit since 2022 and we've seen our share of new dishes everytime... and tried them. No regrets whatsoever!
