Foghorn Brewery was born of a dream to make craft beer the way it ought to be made—from grain to glass all under one roof.The historic building in King Street had been abandoned for several years when we first set foot inside. In that dusty old warehouse, we saw the potential to create something really special.And so it was that Newcastle’s first modern craft brewery opened its doors in April 2015. Instead, you’ll need to text a special code to a number on the wall and a host will open the door and usher you inside. Rest assured, it’s worth the effort, having just won Best Regional bar in Australia 2016.Once inside, you’ll discover a moody, eclectic cocktail bar with an urban edge. Last minute booking, and very appreciative for that. Dinner before a show at Civic Theatre, which was a short walk. All staff amazing food was good.

I cannot comment on the food, as we were only there for cocktails, which i would recommend. unfortunately i’m not sure if our waiter was having a bad day, or just in the wrong industry but he had absolutely no personality, was not helpful, not once smiled and in fact was very curt and rude when speaking with us.
