Judith is a new American tavern pairing warm hospitality and the cooking of James Beard Nominated Chef Julia Sullivan (Henrietta Red in Nashville) located in the quiet area of Sewanee, TN near the University of the South. The name is an homage to Judith Ward Lineback, the first woman to matriculate into the University in 1969.As Sullivan’s first solo project, Judith will feature a seasonal menu of creative and approachable dishes including a selection of small, shareable plates perfect for the bar crowd. The beverage program mirrors the food with accessible wines and a cocktail list created by Henrietta Red's Beverage Manager Patrick Halloran.The warehouse-style building, previously the Old Steam Laundry which serviced the University since the 1950’s, has additional space for private dining and parties. We decided to try Thanksgiving dinner out this year and we like Puckett’s so we figured we would try it. Very busy which we were happy to see. We were seated right away and enjoyed a delicious meal. Salads were excellent and too big to eat! Meats included meat loaf, pulled pork, and of course turkey. With all the expected sides such sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, corn bread stuffing. We took leftovers home, along with pumpkin and pecan pie and apple cobbler. We were really happy with the experience, everyone was wonderful and we will do this again!
