Butterjoint is a comfy bar and restaurant located in North Oakland. Our welcoming and eclectic atmosphere is appropriate for almost any occasion - whether it be meeting a friend for a drink, celebrating an important event, or relaxing after work. Our menu is a mixture of familiar Pittsburgh foods (think pierogies, hamburgers, French fries) and French bistro classics (beef tartare, raclette, mussels), and seasonal classics that come and go throughout the year. We put care into our vegetarian dishes too, including making our own tempeh, falafel, and veggie patties from scratch. Menu items change frequently--usually every day--and reflect many long-standing relationships we have with farms and breweries in our region. In addition to reservations, we also have a thirty seat bar that is first come, first serve. We don’t know exactly how old the bar is, but it’s at least seventy years old (probably older) and very cozy. Our friendly bartenders are here to make something you like.

We go to Casbah every birthday. We are not wealthy people, so it is a stretch for us to eat there. But we always feel confident that our limited entertainment budget will get the maximum bang for its buck at Casbah. The food, ambiance and, most especially, the service, is always on point. It is not cheap, but you get what you pay for. Thank you to Casbah and all the wonderful people who work there, from the valet parking attendants to the bar tenders to the service and buss people. It is always a treat to eat there.

Attention to service and detail is above par. No water glass goes empty, clean utensils with every course, and constant attention for every need. Food is presented in a beautiful manner, hot and appealing, and that first bite is so heavenly that all your focus is on that next bite. Eleven is an experience for all the senses.

Del Frisco’s never disappoints, and tonight was no exception! We decided to enjoy a Saturday evening out, and from the moment we walked in, we were reminded why this restaurant is always at the top of our list. The atmosphere was vibrant yet refined, striking the perfect balance for an enjoyable night out. As always, the service at Del Frisco’s was top-notch, setting the gold standard for hospitality. Our server, Jake, truly went above and beyond to make our evening extra special. His attentiveness, friendly personality, and genuine enthusiasm for ensuring we had a great experience made all the difference. It’s rare to find such consistently excellent service, and Jake absolutely delivered. Of course, the food was nothing short of spectacular. From the perfectly cooked steaks to the rich and flavorful sides, every dish was prepared with precision and presented beautifully. Pairing our meal with a great selection of wines only enhanced the experience. Del Frisco’s continues to be a go-to destination for a fantastic night out. Whether it’s a special occasion or just a casual Saturday dinner, you can always count on exceptional food, impeccable service, and an inviting atmosphere. A huge thank you to Jake and the entire team for making this evening so enjoyable. We’ll definitely be back soon!

Well, we started with the calamari which we have been testing out everywhere we can find it. The Capital Grille wins the prize by a fair amount as if this eating. Oh my goodness. Such succulent delightful morsels of tender squid, mixed with fairly hot peppers from my perspective but my husband says the descriptor should be wonderful peppers. He likes ‘em HOT and FLAVORFUL!! Then on to our entrees. I had the filet and he had the sliced filet with fig essence, (lah dee dah). Both of us were thoroughly delighted with our selections, smiles upon our faces as we “mmmmmm”ed….. our choices for quite some time and spoke very little, only to say how good our meals were. And then dessert. I didn’t even finish my entree I was so full (too much calamari and delicious bread!) so I was going through pass, but they brought us a a little selection from the kitchen of cheesecake and flourless chocolate cake with a huge amount of whipped cream and a ton of fresh berries. Well I got one, can not pass on whipped cream, and what is whipped cream without some berries, eh?? Both perfect. Hubby had the cakes, and said the cheesecake was to die for and the chocolate cake was only excellent! LOL!! Oh, and kudos go to our waiter Michael who was always there when we needed him, always not there when we didn’t want him to be, always offering the right things at the right time, and always asking the right questions. Can’t get much more perfect than that!! Capital Grille, you have outdone yourself this time. Happy Anniversary to us, made very special because of you!!! ❤️
