Thank you for visiting Kenichi Izakaya Carbondale. An Izakaya is a type of informal Japanese pub. At sake breweries during the late 18th century, people in Japan began using sake kegs as stools, and snacks were served. This small plate menu was designed to encourage sharing amongst friends and family. Food is prepared in multiple kitchens and arrives as it is ready to ensure freshness. Amazing all around! Very dense food but it tastes great! We dined in the bottom floor or the Red Room. The upper level is more desirable IMO but the room has a secluded ambiance. The bone in filet is a must! Catch roll and spicy tuna roll were great sushi options

I flew in from Phoenix AZ for the holidays at the very last minute. I was worried about what would be open in this beautiful mountain town having several friends meeting from steamboat and Grand Junction. NONE and none of us were disappointed with ANYTHING. From the bottle of wine too the family style entrees we shared. The ambience was amazing and so was the walk back to the townhouse. 5 stars all the way.
