What a remarkable surprise to find such an elegant yet unpretentious restaurant that is not trying to hard while achieving extraordinary flavors and combinations of ingredients. This was the second time our service wasn’t great. We had to flag our server down to order wine with dinner and dinner came before the wine arrived. Not a huge deal as our server was responsive when we flagged him,

Irate never fails to impress. Food, service and ambiance are superb. Located in the Southern Vermont Arts Center, where today the member artists exhibition opened. Tonya, our regular server in the dining room is wonderful. She is the best! I had a delish cup of soup to start followed by the Denver Omelette and great home fries. My partner had the fried chicken sandwich without the bread and loved every bite. For desert we split a chocolate dish which was spectacular.

The food at Barrows House is consistently amazing. Tonight we had mallard duck (fantastic), scallops with risotto, salmon and the delicious tuna poke nachos to start. Because it was a Monday in stick season, the restaurant volume was quiet. A lovely change. It’s usually bustling and loud which isn’t bad, just different. Thanks to the Barrows House staff for a great evening. Highly recommend.

As a long time Winter resident of Manchester the Marsh Tavern/Chop House has been a staple in our weekend itinerary. It has been several years and the Marsh Tavern was phenomenal as always. The Tavern/Falcon Bar holds the fondest memories of my godfather and I am already booking my next trip back
