- AAaronEdmonton / Northern Alberta •5 reviews4.0Dined 1 day agoThe food was amazing. The burger was probably in the top 1-3 I’ve ever had. Cocktails were also well recommended and cleverly made. Highly recommend giving Woodwork a visit.More infoWoodworkPrice: Expensive• Canadian• Edmonton•4.6
- DDavidEdmonton / Northern Alberta •3 reviews4.0Dined 3 days agoAs always, the service was outstanding. You have excellent waiters and other staff. My wife's Prime Rib was not the greatest. It was good, she said, but it rapidly lost its heat and had lot of fat and grizzle on it. She generally orders the steak and she will again next time we are there. The mushroom soup and my pasta dish were truly outstanding. Delcious. I think your prices have gone up, and what you charge for a 5 oz glass of wine is simply ridiculous. My wife passed on wine, given what you are charging for it. What really compromised the visit for me was the ridiculous "elevator music" that is played in the background. This is not the first time I have complained about this, and for one of Edmonton's finest ,classiest hotel restaurants to play muzak throughout an expensive meal really detracts from the overall experience. Can you not do better?? Some light classical? Even some "smoky jazz", with the volume turned down? Another thing. I realize business is business, and money talks. But it there no way you can implement an even basic dress code? ( i.e. no ball caps or toques while dining). While the days when I would wear a jacket and tie to your restaurant might be behind me I found that sitting near patrons who would look more in place at a truck stop did make the evening's experience less than stellar. Little things, I guess, and half the world is starving. But you asked.......More infoHarvest Room - Fairmont Hotel MacdonaldPrice: Moderate• Unspecified• Edmonton•4.4
- RryanEdmonton / Northern Alberta •11 reviews5.0Dined 4 days agoSo.... Open Table asked me to provide a review of my dinner at Sorrentino's yesterday. I was busy and pressed for time but, it was so good that, my conscience would not allow me to pass this by. So here 'goes; I was there yesterday, Friday evening before the hockey game. My friend was conservative and selected the Cesare salad and the Pear-Gorgonzola Ravioli in Sambuca Rose sauce. It was excellent, as expected. The pasta dishes here are always excellent and, the creativity they apply to something that has become so familiar can be easy to overlook. If you're here and, not sure what to try, you can never go wrong with the pasta menu. I on the other had wanted to try something less conventional and went with the beet salad and lamb. It was fantastic! The beets were perfectly prepared and served with a combination of walnuts, arugula, goat cheese and julienned carrot that surprised me in the best way possible. All dressed in an excellent balsamic vinaigrette and with generous wedges of bocconcino. If I had left the restaurant after that, I would have been sated and smiling but, I didn't. I also had the lamb sirloin. A cut that can be very difficult to do correctly but, they did it perfectly. The lamb was tender and flavourful and served in a fantastic demi with gnocchi and asparagus that were perfectly finished on the grill. It had been a busy day and I was thirsty. Though not normally a beer drinker, our server was able to recommend a light crisp beer that fit both my thirst and the meal so perfectly that I quaffed back two of them. I didn't ask what the beer was, I didn't need to know. My server knew what I needed and, next time I go there, I'm sure he'll be equally prescient. This was not my first time at Sorrentino's downtown and it certainly will not be my last. The food here is consistently excellent and matched only by the outstanding service from their friendly and welcoming staff. Thank you to everyone at Sorrentino's you guys are amazing!More infoSorrentino's DowntownPrice: Expensive• Italian• Edmonton•4.8

- JJustinToronto / Ontario •1 review5.0Dined on 28 Dec 2024Continental Treat Bistro offered an exceptional dining experience. While a central feature of the restaurant is that all the food is gluten free, you wouldn't even know it if you were not told. I had the daily special pierogis, which were stuffed with curry chicken and topped with butter chicken sauce. They were flavorful, well-cooked, and the serving was generous. My wife had the sauerkraut and wild mushroom pierogis and swapped the wild mushroom sauce for the Hungarian goulash sauce. She thought the combination was perfect. My mother in law had the German Meat Cabbage Roll which was ample and served with a tomato sauce. She also reported her meal was excellent. Service was friendly and attentive. The restaurant is nicely decorated and has a definite Eastern European feel.More infoContinental Treat Bistro - DowntownPrice: Expensive• European• Edmonton•4.7
