Chef/Owners Lisa & Terry Harwood opened Vine Street Cafe in 2003. Located on South Ferry Road, just 1.5 miles from the South Ferry. Chef Terry works with area farmers, fishermen & vineyards and features their natural bounty on his seasonal menus. We make everything in house and Lisa's desserts, ice creams and fruit crisps are no exception. Recently, we opened a small market behind the restaurant. This is where you pick up take-out orders while stocking your home pantry.     We really enjoyed our meal at the Halyard. We ordered several appetizers which consisted of calamari, squid, clams and the ricotta with honey. All of our appetizers were delicious. Compliments to the chef. We then ordered the chicken, short ribs and bolognese. All of our meals were so delicious. The short ribs were perfect for a chilly January evening. All of us were pretty full, but decided to try the desserts. Definitely worth saving room for dessert. The espresso creme brûlée is probably the best brûlée we have ever had. We also had the banana ice cream dessert which was fantastic. Definitely put this restaurant on your trip out east.

    What a pleasant cozy evening. The meals were extraordinary as well as the drinks. Our waitress went above and beyond to make our dining special. A tip if you've never been: You can park on either side of the road.
