The Belgian Monk opened in December 2000. The main objective was to create something different yet to fit in with the way drinking and dining is changing. It has become a successful and established bar and restaurant, offering customers a choice of a regular selection of some 45 beers together with a selection of special beers. The menu is based on serving only the best products available freshly prepared daily, at realistic prices, in an informal relaxed "friends and family" atmosphere. It provides more than just the meal or drink but a whole Belgian experience.     The three of us, a married couple (the wife celebrating her Birthday) and myself, were welcomed most warmly and led to the table I always request. My friends had never eaten at a Cote Brasserie before. They are connoisseurs of good food and wine - having celebrated a Birthday at Le Gavroche shortly before it closed. They were most impressed by Cote's extensive menu and wine list. They were genuinely enthusiastic about the quality of the dishes they chose - as they said, fine ingredients excellently cooked. The dessert for the wife celebrating her Birthday duly arrived with candle.... They commented on the service as very friendly and most efficient. They will certainly be dining at Cote again - it was altogether a very memorable and happy celebration - and Cote will continue to be my 'go to' place for entertaining friends.

    Our party enjoyed the Peter Pan afternoon tea. It was excellent!! One of the party is gluten and lactose intolerant and they were provided with a separate stand of food. Their items looked exactly like the other one. Service was efficient and the staff were extremely friendly. A beautiful setting.

    I always choose the seafood platter and organic whit wine, and have shared with lots of friends over the years it’s one of my favourite places to eat in Norwich. Lovely atmosphere, well spaced out tables, pleasant staff, and the platter is delicious. The fresh bread and beautifully dressed salad complete the fish selection.
