Four key pieces separate us from a traditional steakhouse.1) We only serve ranch specific Alberta Beef. That means we don’t serve beef from anywhere else on the planet. We know our farmers and ranchers personally and respect the hard work they put into produce our beef. We like our beef to be, hormone & antibiotic free and pasture raised. Happy cattle make for better steaks. 2) We are one of just a handful of steakhouses in Canada that serves, Grass-fed, Grain-fed, Wet-aged, Dry-aged and Wagyu beef 365 days a year. Our beef is always fresh never frozen.3) We use an 1800o Infrared Grill to cook your steaks. Our grill stays at very consistent high heat versus a traditional open flame grill. The high heat creates a flavourful crust on outside of the steak and leaves a juicy centre.4) Our décor is warm and modern. The tradition has always been dark wood, leathers and a muted palate for a steakhouse. We broke the mold and decided to add hand selected music that reflects us!

The Japanese film Tampopo was marketed as the world’s first “ramen western”. It’s the story of two truck drivers, Goro & Gun, who use their culinary expertise to change the fate of a struggling noodle shop. Those two characters' passion for noodle-making lives on at Calgary’s 150-seat noodle bar — led by executive chef Ryusuke Araki.     Second time eating at Barbarella and it was still a stellar experience! Brought my parents here to celebrate their anniversary and they were happy with the amount of options and ambience. We enjoyed every dish that we ordered - one pasta, one pizza, a steak and roasted tiger shrimp! The flavours were all balanced and delicious. The roasted tiger shrimp could have a bit more shrimp considering the price - but the taste was most excellent. Every other dish felt justifiable for the price, and we'll definitely come back!

    We had the best experience at Modern Steak. The best Manhattan's we've ever had and the meal was fantastic! Delicious, grilled to perfection steaks (filet & rib eye) and sides (mashed potato, mushrooms, white bean), wine and complimentary port at the end of our meal. We are from Ontario but will be back when we visit Calgary again!

    Wonderful experience this evening! We started with cocktails - all with interesting names and interesting flavours. The newspaper garnish was so fun! We enjoyed the oysters - so fresh and flavourful - and the whipped brie to start. We ordered mussels, lobster risotto, short rib and chicken supreme as our mains. All very different, but delicious! Seasoned and cooked to perfection. We finished with dessert and the bartender indulged me with a blueberry tea. We will be back and would not hesitate to recommend to our friends. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

    I have been at this restaurant many times. The food is always excellent. And the views are amazing. I only wish they have better and more non alcoholic drinks choices like lemonade, apple juice and other basic drinks. Specially for people that don’t drink alcohol or non-alcoholic bar drinks.

    Our server Konnor had great personality and provided excellent service. He was always at our table at the right time. The fried mac and cheese sticks were delicious and the porterhouse and salmon were well worth the price. Shoutout to Brad, if you check hospitality in a dictionary, you would see his photo. Thank you for taking care of us.
