The Ivy restaurant has been a firm fixture on London’s dining and social scene since 1917. The restaurant and private room upstairs are the epitome of real glamour. A shimmering central dining bar in the restaurant draws admiring attention, and the signature harlequin stained-glass windows, oak panelling and striking contemporary art collection ensure the longevity of this very British of dining institutions. Executive Chef Gary Lee creates balanced seasonal menus, featuring Ivy classics, but accounting for today’s tastes, incorporating more Asian dishes, salads and vegetables, and the advent of a “sea and shells” section. Director Fernando Peire leads a strong and experienced team to deliver the unfaltering service for which The Ivy has become well known over the years. The Ivy welcomes customers without reservations at the central dining bar, where the A La Carte and Set menus are both served.

Flesh & Buns Covent Garden, from the team behind Bone Daddies and Shackfuyu, is located within the bustling Seven Dials area in Covent Garden. Inspired by Japanese izakayas, roughly translated as a pub or place designed for informal eating and drinking, Flesh & Buns is the first restaurant in London to specialise in gua bao buns (DIY filled steamed buns). Below street-level, the restaurant has a bar area offering bar dining for up to 10 people, serving a variety of sake brands and a diverse range of cocktails including the signature Frozen Yuzu Margarita, alongside the restaurant’s varied sharing food menu. Overall, very nice. Sri lankan coconut curry was delicious but more curry sauce would have been generous. Hubby had mushroom pot pie and sadly pastry top was cold, as were the crushed peas, but pie filling was hot. Elements clearly heated up at different times. The pineapple juice with ginger and turmeric nice but needed to be more pineapple -y. Lovely coffee at the end. Would go back to try other dishes but observations above would have given 5 stars all round, especially the cold elements! Staff were lovely and helpful on choices.

Took my boyfriend here for his birthday meal and we had such a good time. The food was amazing, service was really good and the setting felt very special. It is on the pricier side (especially if you're having alcohol) but the food is very reasonably priced for the quality and there are cheaper options if that's what you're looking for. Would highly recommend

Lovely dinning experience for my sons birthday. Waiter service was impeccable, very professional and friendly. Felt we had privacy in the seating layout but could still be part of the atmosphere. Food was delicious. Front desk a bit chaotic and a bottle neck for customers coming and going. This wasn’t the best first impression. Staff however were very polite. Toilets need a bit of TLC looked a bit tired and toilet doors had dirty finger marks on them. Easy to fix.

Had a great meal at Hawksmoor Seven Dials. The steak was excellent, and while the peppercorn sauce was a bit heavy on the Dijon, it was still tasty. Good selection of red wines by the glass. Our waitress, India, was lovely—friendly and attentive, she really made the evening enjoyable!
