Zou Zou’s is a lively and modern Eastern Mediterranean restaurant from chef Juliana Latif, who spent years working at some of the most notable restaurants throughout New York City, including The NoMad. The New Yorker opened in 1930 at the height of the Great Depression as the then largest hotel in the city. It has attracted a who’s who of entertainers and dignitaries from around the world, including Muhammad Ali, JFK, Joan Crawford and Nikola Tesla. Beneath the hotel, a bank vault and offices were occupied by the Manufacturers Trust Company until 1980. Bar Primi is a pasta shop devoted to ‘primi piatti,’ the pasta course. What began as an idea for a small space in New York’s East Village has since become a downtown New York staple, housed on the Bowery for the last ten years. With this second location in Penn District, chef-partner Andrew Carmellini will carry on his same tried and true methods of making fresh pasta traditionally prepared and cooked to order, using a variety of non-GMO semolina and specialty ‘00’ flours, organic eggs and family recipes.     We’ve eaten at Carmine’s a few times now but we love eating there during this time of year. Carmine’s is the perfect spot for a festive holiday meal! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with beautiful decorations that set the holiday mood. The service is top-notch—attentive and friendly, making you feel right at home. Their family-style Italian dishes are absolutely delicious, with generous portions that are perfect for sharing. So, for being in the heart of NYC, it’s a decent value for our family. Whether it’s a holiday gathering or just a night out, Carmine’s delivers a memorable dining experience

    The overall ambiance of the restaurant was amazing! The overall look feels modern, but with Japanese inspiration. The staff was super attentive and so kind. The food was amazing, and there was not one thing we ordered that we were unsure of because it was all super delicious!

    Solid work lunch. Tasty food, prompt and courteous service. Nice ambiance. Lively but not too loud. Any restaurant worth eating at is expensive these days. Expect $30 salads. lol

    Went for lunch on Saturday. Did not realize there would be a DJ, so it rather loud. Good weekend brunch spot for large parties, less so for two people who want to converse. Food is very good, prices not unreasonable. Close walk to Hudson Yards.
