Restaurants near Union Station

Where do I start? What a special time there! We celebrated my boy’s 12th birthday and everyone was so accommodating to my unexpected larger than 10 showing up guests! We even got to sit with a view of his fav tall ship. The manager moved tables and Micah served us all flawlessly! He even brought him a dessert with a candle and the restaurant guests even sung him happy birthday along with family. Great memories! We have been several times but this was the best!

Surprised my girlfriend here for Valentine's Day and it did not disappoint. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was great. Overall, this experience was exceptional for both of us.

Rudy & Paco Restaurant & Bar is a place to go when you want calm ambience and well-prepared food. Most of the clientele seems to take seriously the business-casual dress code, which has great support from the best-dressed service staff that one can find in this vicinity. The restaurant's location adjacent to the 1894 Opera House is a setting for an interesting outing, whether for stand-alone dining or in preparation for other nearby entertainment activity.

We made dinner reservations for 3:45pm and were promptly seated. Very good time as restaurant had a calming ambience before the crowds. Nice place with multiple seating areas from front to back. We were seated in Dinning Room which is 1/2 through the restaurant. We started with their Appetizer Platter & bottle of Italian red wine (Delacorte). Of course it was a delicious blend that our waiter Nathan said was popular with guests. For Entrees we enjoyed their Scallops (including a selection of local fish from the Gulf), and Lasagna Bologne. They were both hot and delicious. Of course everything about the dining out experience is strongly influenced by the staff employed, and our Server Nathan was efficient, knowledgeable, friendly & actually appeared to enjoy working there! We’d definitely return next time - this place is a welcome alternative from our “rushed” dining experiences back home in San Diego.

We come every year for brunch! Never disappoints! Love the cute atmosphere, great service & delicious food!
