We absolutely loved our experience at L’Escargot!! The food was so tasty, the atmosphere was cozy but clean and sophisticated and the staff were so welcoming and helpful and attentive. The price is absolutely worth experiencing for an anniversary, date night, or delicious meal with friends. Highly recommend!!

This place was so good and enjoyable on so many levels, it is difficult to to be honest instead of selfishly keeping it as secret as a place that has been in operation since the late 1950s can be. An absolute treasure in every way.

Lot’s of good restaurants in Carmel. This is one of the longest survivors (Chef owned) and definitely one of the best.

Nothing bad to say about this classic restaurant. Great food, kind staff, nice place. We had sole, lobster risotto, beef Wellington and apple tart, with wine by the glass. Perfect. No complaints. Evon is smiling down from above.

We were celebrating Valentine’s Day on a Wednesday night. We were the first party to arrive and were greeted warmly. Our table was cozy and quiet. The waiter was attentive and informative. The food was delicious and we were surprised by the generous portions. What a gem!

Our 2nd time. Great French menu, food and service. We had the goat cheese and onion tart, frog legs and the lobster risotto to start. Rabbit pasta, cassoulet and the extraordinary Dover sole for mains, then the brownie for dessert. Delicious wine (Sancerre, Pinot Noir and a Rhone) were all perfection. It is a splurge, but worth it. The only downside was parking. This was during a long Valentine's weekend and at 5 pm we still had to play "Vulture Club" and follow someone who was leaving to takeover their spot...

This is a hidden gem in Carmel. The duckling two ways is worth a visit. Great service and old school ambience.

We went for an early Valentine’s Day in hope of finding a romantic restaurant with good food. We found it! Absolutely delicious food. The French Onion Soup was THE BEST ever. The individual Beef Wellingtons were prepared in a way that we could each have what we wanted: medium rare in my case, and well done in his. The cheesecake was melt in your mouth delicious. The service was excellent. We have a new restaurant on our list.

Absolutely fantastic, and authentic, French cuisine. Excellent service and wine list, too. Can’t wait to go back.
