Food was excellent. Prepared/cooked as requested. Steaks here are always delicious. Eddie Merlot's chopped salad is my favorite, and it didn't disappoint last night. They've changed the shrimp cocktail sauce a bit and neither myself nor my husband were fans of the new sauce - but other than that, everything was perfect. Bread served warm. Wine was excellent - and a good value too. (A Napa bottle of cab sauv wine for $75 in a restaurant is pretty good!) Water glasses kept full. We will be back.

We haven’t dined at Granite City in quite some time. At 5:30, the restaurant was not very crowded for a Saturday night. Our waiter was excellent and provided great friendly service. We each ordered French Onion soup which was very tasty and sandwiches. Overall, our experience was satisfactory and we will be back.

I showed up for my birthday but none of my friends could make it. I ended up being solo. I don't remember the bartender's name but he was so sweet and attentive. Food: I had the braised short ribs on polenta and fingerling potatoes. The short ribs were fork tender and good.
