Macao Trading Co. takes its inspiration from the brothels and opium dens of old 1930's Macao...an exotic time-out-of-time place...mysterious, adventurous, decadent.

Whether an intimate dinner, large party, or late night dining, take advantage of our signature Eurasian cuisine: a sumptuous blend of Chinese and Portuguese influences.

Located on Church St, at the edge of Tribeca, Macao’s décor is a dramatic composition of lighting, relics, and industrial iron work. The high ceilings and tucked away location provide a fit setting for the restaurant’s 1940's portside warehouse feel, recalling the adventure of Macao’s "red lantern district."

We had a wonderful dinner last night with friends. The vibe in the restaurant and bar is very chill (although the folks at the bar occasionally piped up with great excitement). Food is delicious- don’t overlook the crispy whole fish or the lobster noodles. Dumplings and mushroom croquettes are also fabulous. Service was really great. I highly recommend this place.

Everything was fabulous about Macau, and particularly enjoyed the electic mix of 80/90s-20s music that made for a fun atmosphere.

This restaurant came up in a search as a portuguese-asian fusion restaurant. The interior was very cool and we really liked the ambiance. The menu was definitely asian and not portuguese at all. We tried the ribs, the calamari, the bok choy and the ants climbing a tree noodles. The standout was definitely the Ants Climbing noodle dish. It was our favorite. The calamari unfortunately was overdone, dry and chewy, barely edible. The ribs were tasty but also overdone and so a bit dry as well. The bok choy was good but nothing to write home about.

I went for my Birthday dinner and besides the savory food, I was beautifully serenaded by someone from the restaurant. Best experience ever!
