Afghan Kebab House has consistently provided delicious and traditional Afghan food for over 20 years in the Upper East Side. Given that we are a neighborhood mainstay, our guests will always feel welcome and our staff will accommodate any of your dining needs.

Food is consistently good for 30 years due to owner supervision. New location is not as intimate and warm as previous site.

Great experience. kebabs (mixed and chicken) were excellent. Chicken nice and moist, so was the lamb.

My wife and I have been going to Afghan Kebab House for years and it has always been an enjoyable experience with great food. The service is impeccable with the restaurant owner often coming to the table to make sure you are getting everything you need. The atmosphere is casual and quiet- perfect for people to enjoy their meal without distractions. And as a bonus, it is BYOB so you can enjoy your favorite wine without the usual restaurant mark-up.

Incredible service matched with even better food. Lovely lovely interior and ambience as well. Loved the pumpkin dish, I get this every time. Will continue to frequent here!

We really wanted to like this place, but sadly, the service was so awful, we most likely wouldn’t return. The sambosa and bolance kachalou were decent, the tandoori chicken breast kebab was good, and the combo kebab was fine. Unfortunately, our waiter was extremely unpleasant, incompetent, and inattentive, which really made for an unpleasant experience.

Such an amazing time here- the food is always delicious and authentic. I’ve been coming here for 30 years from childhood to adulthood and now with my own 3 kids. Must try spot!
