Since 1919, Mario’s Restaurant, a landmark located in the heart of the “real Little Italy” of the Bronx, Arthur Avenue, has been serving robust, authentic Neapolitan fare for five generations. Recipient of Americas Regional Classics 2000 James Beard Restaurant Award, all the food is made to order, prepared by Executive Chef Massimo, using only the purest, freshest highest quality ingredients. Mario's has come full circle, originally founded by a woman, Scolastica Migliucci and now run by her great-great granddaughter Regina Migliucci-Delfino. You will be greeted like family when you walk through the door and our knowledgeable wait staff will graciously help you through our extensive menu, daily specials and our award winning dishes. Great dining experience! This is a classic old school authentic italian restaurant that brings one back to the 50’s or 60’s. The food was delicious and served piping hot. We went for the classics. My veal parmigiana was probably the best I have ever had; incredibly tender with a fabulous red sauce. My wife had eggplant parmigiana which was absolutely perfect. I had pasta fagioli soup to start which had wonderful flavor and texture. Our server, Albana? was very friendly and courteous and the service was outstanding! We will definitely be back here making sure to bring our friends!!

We've celebrated a number of things at Marios, birthdays, anniversaries, college drop off and they never disappoint! Looking forward to our next visit. The food is excellent.

Everything about our experience was wonderful! On a typically busy neighborhood street, they had free valet parking when you pull up. Our reservation was immediately noted and we were given very comfortable seating. The wait staff was more-than-appropriately attentive and uber-professional. The timing of the plating was perfect and each new course was served without much overlap with the one that was presented prior. The dishes were very tasty and cooked exactly right. The swordfish dinner was perfect. The Vongole Oreganata (clams) was delicious, but the breading was a bit excessive. Nevertheless...very, very enjoyable. The meal concluded with an amazing cannoli and a Manhattan tartufo. Espresso was a must, and perhaps the best tasting brew in our experience. When we exited the restaurant, our car was already waiting at the door. Marios is a restaurant we have every intention of eating at again (...and again). (Personal note: My family used to dine at Mario's when I was a young child growing up in the Bronx. Mario's granddaughter still runs the family restaurant, greeting us at the door. The experience hasn't dimmed one iota in the 60 years that have elapsed since!!)

It was our first time at Mario’s Restaurant. What an Experience! Food, Service and Ambiance was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! So DELICIOUS! Would definitely recommend to all.Can’t wait to go back!

Of the 4 meals, 3 were excellent and as advertised. One meal of Lasagna tasted stale, rank and was obviously made days prior to serving. While I understand the need for early prep, this was extremely disappointing.

One of Arthur Avenue's traditional red sauce restaurant with its own parking lot or complimentary valet parking service. A benefit when parking is so hard to come by in the area. Fun experience. Definitely touristy but worth the effort.
