We picked this restaurant for our 5- year anniversary, and it was sadly not a good choice. Our assigned table was bear the host stand, so we were right next to a ringing phone. The downfall really was the food, which did not delight us in any way. We had a Caprese salad, which was weirdly prepared, with quartered tomatoes instead of slices. Fresh basil was absent, and due to the size of the tomato quarters the flavors were washed out. The Carbonara was the biggest letdown, drowning in a sea of heavy cream sauce, completely lacking any flavor nuances and also making the panacetta irrelevant, as everything was overpowered by the cream. The disconnect between the prices and the quality of the food left us disappointed and sad. We've had better caprese salad from the grocery store deli and can prepare a better Carbonara at home. Don't come here for a quiet dinner, the noise level is hight, plenty of kids and music that seems as disconnected from anything Italian as the food itself.

Wonderful dining experience in terms of great food and attentive service, as always. It was louder than usual because a large party that included seven young children was there when we were.

The food was outstanding! We started with the flatbread with prosciutto and the burrata with prosciutto and cantaloupe. For our mains We had the chicken Parmesan and lasagna. Every dish was delicious:-)

Matteo's is a must if you are in Maui and Wailea! excellent food, reasonable prices, superior service. Kianna is the best server ever! Plus the team that supports her is top notch too. Always attentive, refilling water, bringing more bread, whatever you need. We don't have one favorite because everything is our favorite. you can't go wrong with whatever you order! It's all delicious! Matteo's also offers the best value on the island. VERY reasonably priced for large portions (my wife and I always share an entre), you can't find better value on Maui!
