   Greeted warmly at the desk, led to a nice quiet table, a preprandial Glencairn glass of bourbon to start off the evening! Had the fried chicken, corn and beans, scrumptious as usual! Our go-to site for a great setting and dinner!!

   Server did not bring two of our sides out until after we had finished our meal, and had to be reminded to do so.

   Excellent food and service; best pork chop ever. Service was good but a full house kept the noise level up until the crowd decreased. Nice table next to the fireplace. Overall great experience.

   Food was awesome Artichoke dip spinach chips excellent Filet , corn pudding, lamb chops, all were outstanding Cocktails hit the spot Rob our server was hustling, he was excellent Our anniversary was a success!

   Merrick Inn is a favorite special-occasion restaurant for us. Service and atmosphere help make it a statement experience. The food is always delicious. We have our go-to favorites, but try to experience something new when a special strikes our fancy. The grouper fingers appetizer are a non-negotiable; we never skip them. The rolls were light and delicious. The halibut with crab topping and the pecan-crusted pork tenderloin were perfect. Even the sides bear the hallmarks of attention to detail. We also had the creme brûlée, which we rarely skip. All in all, it lived up to our expectations built on years of never-let-you-down excellence. While not inexpensive, portions are generous enough to have leftovers for another meal, so it does represent a good value.

I have included a photo of what we received. I ordered medium rare and they brought me a prime rib that was totally brown all the way through. I let that one go back in hopes of something with at least a little pink. I received the same…brown all the way through. Another person ordered the hot brown and we were surprised the sauce was a weird shade or light brown. Merrick used to be a treat but is now just mediocre at best. We are taking it off of our go out to eat rotation. So sad that such a landmark has let its standards go so low.
