All were excellent-the soup was exceptionally delicious. We dined outside with a heater overlooking El Paseo street. Very quiet and enjoyable. - BBretVIPCalifornia Central Coast •11 reviews5.0Dined 3 days agoLooking for a high grade happy hour?? Try Eddie V's! Word of mouth lead us here for the first time, and since they filled up on a Tuesday night, it was clear that their reputation was sterling. It was much better than we had hoped. The happy hour menu is really impressive and it's like having a tasting sampler of some of the restaurant's best dishes. They offer salads, soups, seafood, and quality meats all in dishes for two....like two filet sliders, two oysters Rockefeller, etc. We started with the jumbo crab cake and it was the largest and finest crab cake we have ever had anywhere! No fillers....just a huge amount of fresh crab meat with a delicious sauce built in. One order feeds two, unless you just can't help yourself. Then we had African lobster bites that were crunchy on the outside and moist and tender on the inside; five of them were served like popsicles and we asked for melted butter to go with them (do that!). Fantastic! The next dish we don't recommend as strongly: two oysters prepared Rockefeller style, but the oysters were much too small to be satisfying and they were covered with an overbearing crunchy panko covering which overwhelmed what should have been the oyster flavor. Next came filet sliders, medium rare and absolutely delicious...excellent beef and super tender. Then the big surprise were lamb "popsicles". But these were really much more, a full one-bone lamb chop, with excuisite flavor. Wow! Dessert was excellent also, a Meyer Lemon Torte with toasted meringue and fresh fruit accents. Rich, creamy, but not overbearing. Service was exceptional: thank you so much Priscilla! And the General Manager, Rudy, came by to have a nice chat about this restaurant as well as their place in La Hoya, Southern California. What a great find! The great food and drinks were not inexpensive but well worth the cost. And the atmosphere is very classy. Enjoy!More infoEddie V's - Palm DesertPrice: Very Expensive• Seafood• Palm Desert•4.8
- TTimmianVIPNew York City •39 reviews5.0Dined 4 days agoIf there is a name for the perfect dining experience, it is Si Bon. Nicely decorated for the holidays, a warm welcome, friendly, efficient service, and delicious food summarize our early evening dinner. The generous bowl of mushroom soup was hearty and flavorful. The beef stroganoff and seafood pasta entrees were superb. The pear-almond tart with vanilla gelato was scrumptious. While this was our first visit, we will be back again for breakfast as well as dinner. Highly recommended.More infoSi BonPrice: Moderate• Bistro• Rancho Mirage•4.8
