The ancient tradition of the Samurai lives on at Mikado where knife-twirling chefs use fire and steam to create a mouth watering menu of steak, chicken and seafood delights. The highlight of the experience is the dazzling talents of your chef as he expertly chops, juggles, jokes and prepares an incredible meal right before your eyes. While you are led to your table through our private Japanese garden, notice the Koi swimming below and the sound of cascading waterfalls.

Mikado at the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa is known throughout the Coachella Valley and Southern California as the leader in authentic Teppan-Yaki Dining.

But it doesn’t stop there! East meets West at the ultimate sushi bar where you can relax and enjoy the freshest foods and a signature martini or sake. Celebrate an intimate gathering or a private function up to 140 guests at Mikado where the food is the show! Arigato!

"Please note that Mikado Restaurant reservations are not inclusive of a boat tour."

Over cooked chicken, inedible fried rice and veggies due to inordinate amounts of sesame seeds and soy sauce. Awful condiments (not a hint of mustard in the mustard sauce), rubbery and tasteless shrimp. Seriously overpriced, over-hyped. Table chef pretended to be interested but his sloppiness told the real story. Second worst meal at this resort. Miserable.

Same jokes, same food, same routine as every other Japanese steak house except far more expensive. The primary chef was very hard to understand and seemed as if he was just going thru the motions. In truth, food was pretty dull. Wouldn’t go back

The chef was very entertaining. The food was mediocre. Our NY strip steaks were supposed to be medium but it was overcooked. And well done with a dry taste. Vegetables and white rice were fine. Overall it was very expensive for mediocre food.

Our experience at this restaurant was horrible. The chef barely put any steak on my fiancés plate and the chicken was dry. We don’t recommend this restaurant..

Very disappointed that they upcharge fried rice by 8.00. No longer give both soup and salad. Portion sizes small. 200.00 with two drinks. Not worth it for hibachi.

I have been here many times in the past. Always a hit. Great food, good value. Fun. I would suggest making "swag" so that people can buy something to take back home as a souvenir or a gift.
