   Horrible experience I came in and a large group came behind me. The hostess bypassed me and seated the large group first. Perhaps that made sense to decongest the entrance. Nonetheless, I waited 10 minutes for her to come back. As she took me to the table she passed a wandering diner who said he was looking for his waitress- bad sign. The place was about half full, and there were plenty of wait staff who were standing around. It took 15 minutes for my waitress, Crystal, to come to the table and take my order. I ordered a Morimoto special beer on tap. And then waited another 15 minutes. Finally the waitress came back and said that that beer was not available. By this time I was 40 minutes into my experience, so I just left. I had traveled from halfway across the country and have been anticipating this iron chef dining experience. so disappointing.

   We had some really delicious food and cocktails. The specials were particularly fun...but you can hardly go wrong with the standards. Great fun!

   Our server was disappointing. She rushed us through our meal, no warm welcome, checks just dropped off with no thank you, no Comped birthday goodie after being told there was one, empty dishes taken away while one guest was still eating. The food was delicious But the service hindered the dining. Experience.

   We wanted to try Morimoto's for a long time where an opportunity presented itself and took my family to celebrate a milestone event. Prior to the occasion, I perused through the multitude of pictures that were posted by previous diners. With the help of the dinner menu from the website, I created a litany of dishes that were unique that I want to try. The intent was to create my version on an omakase where there was enough food from each dish for my family to sample and taste. Our server, Cristal, did an outstanding job of explaining the Morimoto sake and flight sake samplers along with answering questions on the various mixed libations. The staff was also very knowledgeable in describing the dishes we ordered and brought to our table from the kitchen. Overall, my family had a great time eating and drinking in an environment full of Japanese art and cultural items that reflects Chef Morimoto's proud heritage. If you want a place to celebrate a milestone or just stop for a drink with an appetizer or two, Morimoto of Napa is the number one choice.

   The food was amazing but after ordering a sushi platter and a mixed surf and turf grill platter the timing on the actual dishes themselves took quite a while, we were seated at 8:30PM and didn’t receive our dishes until about an hour later. Luckily enough our server provided a complimentary table side bottle of sake to compensate for the delay of service.

    You can’t go wrong with a visit to Morimoto. Everything we ordered was top notch (spicy tuna roll, pork gyoza, wasabi tempura lobster with Korean Waygu short rib, ishiyaki buri bop and the chocolate sphere for dessert). We visited the day after valentines and they were packed which caused service to be a bit slow, but the food was worth the wait. Have also visited their Morimoto Asia restaurant as well and prefer Morimoto over it.
