Supremely Asian American. Eastern cooking technique.

Taking inspiration from the night markets of Asia and his Korean-American childhood, Chef Edward Kim pairs eastern cooking techniques with Chicago ingredients to create umami-laden flavors, juxtaposing tastes and textures for a wildly exciting menu. A festive and lively dining scene is anchored by a well-lauded bar program and an open pantry, inviting our guests further into the kitchen experience. Like a nightly Asian Thanksgiving, expect Feast-Style dining, rolling up your sleeves, passing plates with your neighbors, getting sauce on your face - if you’re having a good time you’re doing it right.

Great evening out! Close to Chopin theater where we were heading. Stuffed cabbage and steak were sublime. Would highly recommend!

Our night was so enjoyable, and it started with our server. He was personable, helpful and good humored. The cocktails are creative, I had the Japantown and loved it. Very original, very refreshing. We shared the garlic fried rice, brussels sprouts, fire chicken and steak kalbi. Every bit of it was delicious. Truly, could not have been happier with the experience.

Just a shame that you can’t order the burger at a table when it’s past 7pm. Don’t exactly see why that is a thing. We had to sit at the bar…

Best Dish: Chili Cauliflower, Shrimp Noodles, Mott Burger (must have); and Steak Kalbi. We have been to Mott's about 4 times now including Brunch. Dinner is always packed and amazing. Brunch was different and enjoyable. Highly recommend especially reservations before 7 pm to order the burger at the table. After 7 pm, the burger is only available at the bar. The drinks/cocktails are also tasty. If you have 3 or 4 people, the chef tasting menu is worth it for the price.

tofu tasted like nothing and imperial rolls were like meatloaf sticks in a cased shell that didn't even close

Everything was delicious, except the papaya salad. Do not get it unless you like hard to eat textures and food that reminds you of something you may feed your pet. 10/10 on every other dish we had- cauliflower, imperial rolls, squash, mushrooms (omg the miso!!!), Deji Delight, tofu, miso caramel budino.

The food is fabulous. I had the pork belly benedict and I was thoroughly satisfied. Everything was cooked perfectly and I really enjoyed my meal.

Love this place for dinner, and now for brunch! Plus they were so gracious about my toddler creating a mess while she enjoyed her delicious coconut pancakes!

Absolutely sit at the bar if you want a casual but chic dining experience and order the Mott burger. You can only get it at the bar.
