- TTaffyNew Mexico •7 reviews5.0Dined 1 day agoWe returned for a second visit this holiday season; it was wonderful. Got adventurous and had the creamed corn. I noticed my daughters snuck more than an initial half teaspoon taste. It was very, very good. Not watery creamy. This had a nice texture. Try it! The prime rib was exceptional. I had the smaller portion. One daughter had the thinner slices. One daughter had the regular cut. All were sumptuous! Had a baked potato instead of the mashed. It was yummy. We ordered an apple crisp to share between the three of us. It was delicious with a nice amount of apple slices hidden under the topping and surrounded by the usual warm spices. Our server was great! She was friendly, attentive but didn’t hover. Thank you all for a wonderful evening! I may not be back for a while. Palo Alto daughter is moving to Duarte. CA this summer. If she needs help moving, we’ll have to do a farewell visit at House of Prime Rib. Again, thank you!More infoHouse of Prime RibPrice: Very Expensive• Steak• Civic Center / Hayes Valley / Van Ness•4.8

- JJanSan Francisco Bay Area •9 reviews5.0Dined on 15 Dec 2024We had five people who were all pleased with their meals. The chicory salad with blue cheese was a big hit. Great mix of lightly bitter greens with dates and nuts! Very tasty. We felt welcome and the overall experience was festive and fun.More infoBlue PlatePrice: Expensive• Contemporary American• Bernal Heights•4.9

I hope they add more small plates and hope they change them up - that would be fun. Excellent veg options including tandoori vegetables, paneer tikka masala and channa masala. The brown rice is also quite good! The atmosphere isn't anything special, but the food and service are the real reasons to come here.More infoTilak Indian CuisinePrice: Moderate• Indian• Bernal Heights•4

Discover Bernal Heights
Not content to ride the culinary coattails of its neighbor, the Mission district, Bernal Heights offers its own distinct array of cozy eating options. While the tide has certainly shifted from the days when it was nicknamed “Maternal Heights,” the familial vibe can still be found in the gourmet comfort food mainstays that dot Cortland Avenue and Mission Street. Between fine dining, mom-and-pop institutions, and even an overgrown backyard beer garden, it’s an ideal neighborhood for a bohemian-flavored lazy afternoon—or even date night. Every Saturday in the southeast corner of the Heights, The Alemany Farmer’s Market keeps its streak alive as one of the oldest in the country, running continuously since 1947. For the canine-inclined, pop into one of the numerous cafes to grab a snack and then head to Bernal Hill Park, an “off leash” mecca for dogs and their owners. It’s one of the city’s largest parks, and the perfect place to explore lush views—with or without the pooch.
