Margaret is a neighbourhood restaurant at its core, but it’s also evolved into something more than that. It’s about comfort, generosity, and cosiness.
At Margaret, we work with the best quality produce that Australia has to offer. Chef Neil Perry AM has spent years developing relationships with some of the best suppliers in the country. We are predominantly a seafood restaurant and are very fortunate to receive our seafood direct from our fishermen, caught sustainably and dry filleted here onsite at Margaret, so we can ensure that all that love and care our wonderful fisherman have taken is seen all the way through. Next Door is the sister restaurant of Margaret, which, quite literally, sits next door to it at the corner of Bay St and Guilfoyle Avenue. Featuring a rolling 12-hour lunch-to-dinner menu, the bar brings you a selection of specially curated small plates such as Woodfire Grilled Peppers, Cherry Tomatoes with Oregano, Braised Zucchini with Mint, Chilli and Pecorino, as well as an amazing selection of Consorcio, Cuca, Pollastrini, Ortiz and Real Conversas tins with some freshly baked sourdough from Baker Bleu. It's also home to the famous Perry hamburger.
"It's just a place to get some really nice hospitality, chill out and enjoy your day," Neil Perry.
Sandwiched between Baker Bleu and Margaret, the indoor dining area is cosy and comfortable, with marble-top tables and an open bar and kitchen.

Neil Perry AM is one of Australia’s leading and most influential chefs. He has been the Food, Beverage & Service Director at QANTAS for 25+years, creating one of the best dining experiences in the sky.

In partnership with Linden Pride of the renowned Dante, New York, Bobbie’s has the underground energy of a New York style cocktail bar with the refined, sophisticated flair of a Neil Perry institution. It’s about keeping things in the family: when Linden was 17, he was polishing glasses at Neil’s Rockpool restaurant. In a full-circle moment, they’ve come together to showcase their passion for produce-driven experiences.
Located in the basement of 24 Bay St, Double Bay, the same Neville Gruzman-designed heritage building as Neil’s Song Bird restaurant, Bobbie’s was named after Linden’s grandfather, the legendary radio broadcaster Bob Rogers, who mingled with the likes of the Beatles and the Rolling Stones in their heyday.

From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make the day special. The food was incredible - and a lot of it! And the service was friendly and flawless. It was a perfect way to mark this milestone birthday. I cannot recommend Margaret enough for any special occasion. Thank you to all at Margaret for making this day extraordinary!

    Bartiga was an absolute wonderful expirience I went for dinner with my family and we fell in love with the place. The best restaurant we have been to so far in Sydney the entrees were absolutely stunning and the service kept the same level. We were served by two italian waiters that were super nice Really recommend

    Love that you’ve been getting mixed reviews, we wanted to try anyway, it was AMAZING! We aren’t the biggest fans of Asian food either, but with Neil Perry at the helm it was worth trying…and we aren’t so grateful we did. Having excellent staff with great attitudes helps as well as a great wine list - loved all the drinks and the options Fried rice was off the charts as well as the dumplings prawn toast snapper, what have I left out! 🩵🩵🩵
