L’Ostal is a Provencal restaurant rooted in history and tradition celebrating the cuisines of Southern France & its boundaries. Stemming from the old Occitania language, the word ‘ostal’ refers to house & the warmth of hospitality that encompasses welcoming one into your home. Throughout the six dialects of this language starting in Catalonia, stretching through the Languedoc into Provence and onto the Alps of Piemonte, they all embrace this welcoming through their cooking. We celebrate the traditions of each country through their amazing cuisine as well as showcasing the wine and heritage of indigenous products. We look forward to bringing our warmth in hospitality & dining to the great community of Darien, Connecticut. Welcome to our home at L’Ostal.
Outdoor seating is available, but only offered weather depending, and reservations can be made day of, only over the phone, starting at 2pm on the day of.

Sails Bar & Grill provides fresh, high quality food for its patrons. Some of the starter items that are popular include the tuna tartare, Sails tacos and the grilled tiger shrimp flatbread. Sails Bar & Grill also offers a variety of sushi specialty rolls, gnocchi Bolognese, mac and cheese, wild king salmon, pork tenderloin and burgers. Another feature that helps make Sails Bar & Grill popular with the locals and visitors is the live music and dancing available on the weekends. It helps to provide a unique atmosphere for the eatery. It is a fun and casual experience for family and friends to enjoy.

Scena Wine Bar offers up Mediterranean fare in the downtown area of Darien. The family-owned restaurant opened in 2010 and has been pleasing customers in the area ever since. Scena Wine Bar has menus for bunch, lunch and dinner. Some of the popular options on the menu include the steamed clams, spicy salmon tartare, cider steamed mussels, ricotta gnocchi, fettuccini carbonara and grilled salmon corn succotash.
Scena Wine Bar also has a dessert menu including a cookie plate, tiramisu, apple pie and Nutella filled crepes. The restaurant has a wine menu with a number of different vintages of wine available.

The food was good. The gnocchi were under cooked but the sauce was delicious. The veal Osso Bucco special was very tasty. The service was not very good. We had empty drinks after bringing our drinks from the bar and were never asked if we needed another drink. I would consider going again but if the service doesn’t improve, it would be my last. Separately, it is cold in the restaurant especially near the from window where we were seated.
