- KKirkNew Orleans / Louisiana •6 reviews5.0Dined 1 day agoThird time dining here, this time as a party/dinner for my office. The food, staff, and ambience were perfect. The only thing missing disagree with is the credit card surcharge they tack onto your bill, which I do not recall being done when we dined there in September. I own a small business, and credit card fees are a cost of doing business. It should be included in the cost calculations for the price of the food being served (because hardly anyone pays cash any longer) instead of being tacked onto the bill afterwards. This is why I took one star away from my ratings of VALUE.More infoTchefuncte'sPrice: Expensive• Steakhouse• Madisonville•4.7

Discover Madisonville
Situated along the Tchefuncte River, this New Orleans suburb makes the perfect backdrop for meals that are true to Louisiana. Few things define the culinary identity of this region quite like gumbo and jambalaya, which were invented in Louisiana. As any self-respecting Louisiana native will tell you, there is no better place to eat them than the place of their conception. Madisonville was once a Tangipahoa Indian village and, as a direct result, traditional Native American cuisine is melded with alligator, crawfish, frog and waterfowl. All of these are an innate nod to some of the region’s best contributions to the food world. Visitors are sure to be satisfied by the area's variety of culinary must-haves.
