- MMarshaVIPPhiladelphia County •53 reviews5.0Dined on 28 Dec 2024We returned to LaStrada a second time because of the deliciously prepared food. As I mentioned in a previous post, it would have been nice if they had heated up the Italian bread when they brought it to the table instead of room temperature bread. Also I did not like the fact that the servers are all constantly trying to clear diners’ plates before everyone has finished their meals. I definitely felt rushed while I was eating my salad and the server wanted to take the plate from the person sitting next to me who had just finished their salad. Same thing happened while I was still eating my dinner. It’s not proper to clear the table when not everyone has finished that course. Other than that complaint, everything was excellent!More infoLa Strada Italian Restaurant|BYOPrice: Expensive• Italian• Northeast Philly•4.8
- OTOpenTable DinerPhiladelphia County •1 review4.0Dined on 25 Dec 2024We decided to eat out for Christmas. Joining me for dinner was my brother and daughter. We arrived for our 4:30 pm. dinner reservations and were seated at our table quickly. The restaurant was not crowded.i remember thinking we came at a good time. We were greeted by our Kemara W. she was very patient with us as we order our dinner and drinks. After we received our drinks I noticed that it was taking a long time for appetizers to arrive (about 20 to 30 minutes). The appetizers were hot and delicious. However, I was disappointed in my lobster bisque. It was cold and no pieces of lobster meat. The waitress did apologize for the soup arriving late. We had an extremely long wait for entrees. Of course all of our entrees included a lobster tail. My lobster tail was under cooked. So I took it home reheated it (who whould want to that)? I have been dreaming of a tasty lobster since I made the reservations. We were told that some members of the cooking staff were new. However, Christmas evening was not a time for new staff. You want your " A" staff on so your customers will want to return. It whould have been nice if the manager was there to oversee everything.More infoRed Lobster - PhiladelphiaPrice: Moderate• Seafood• Northeast Philly•3.5

12 of Philadelphia’s outstanding spots for celebrating special occasions
Maybe you got engaged on the steps at the Philadelphia Museum of Art or just picked up the keys to your first rowhouse. It could be that your kid is (finally) toilet trained, or that your noisy neighbor moved away. Sometimes, simply surviving another Tuesday can be an occasion to celebrate over a restaurant meal. It doesn’t have to be fancy. What makes an occasion special isn’t an arbitrary date on the calendar—it’s the decision to celebrate. Luckily, Philadelphia bursts with places where the food and atmosphere lend themselves to living it up. Grab dinner and a jazz show at a swinging North Broad Street faithful. Opt for a quieter night at a critically acclaimed, plant-based gem in Midtown Village. Or splurge on a swanky steakhouse that presides over a corner of Rittenhouse Park. Whether you’re after an intimate spot for an anniversary date or a convivial atmosphere for a boisterous reunion, Philadelphia has you covered with these 12 celebration-worthy restaurants.
