- JJimNew York City •6 reviews5.0Dined 4 days agoYou won't be disappointed! This was our first visit, and it confirmed all the great reviews we'd seen. We were seated promptly, and our waitress was there right away to take a drink order and answer any questions. I have specific dietary restrictions, and the waitress and manager were there to talk through my options. The brussel sprout over hummus appetizer was perfect and not overly oily like some other locations. I had a pasta and vegetable entree that was really good, and my wife very much enjoyed the salmon.More infoPithariPrice: Expensive• Mediterranean• Middletown•4.6
- EEmilyVIPPhiladelphia County •74 reviews5.0Dined 4 days agoAnother fabulous meal at La Fia; it's always fun to go with someone who hasn't been before, or only once or twice and get to see them experience all of the amazing food for the first time! As always, everything was absolutely outstanding: the focaccia with the honey butter is so addicting, I feel like I can't not order it now--same for the duck leg confit. I wasn't going to get it this time, and then someone else in our party was ordering it, and I knew I would wish I had ordered it when it arrived at the table for him! The pappardelle was incredible; all of us ordered it! And then we got the maple ice cream and the passion fruit sorbet for dessert, and both were excellent. Terrific cocktails as always, and the best service! The most wonderful place to have a meal that somehow manages to feel both informal and homey and special and chic at the same time (and love the holiday decor)! The best start to vacation!More infoLa FiaPrice: Moderate• Farm-to-table• Wilmington•4.9

12 of Philadelphia’s outstanding spots for celebrating special occasions
Maybe you got engaged on the steps at the Philadelphia Museum of Art or just picked up the keys to your first rowhouse. It could be that your kid is (finally) toilet trained, or that your noisy neighbor moved away. Sometimes, simply surviving another Tuesday can be an occasion to celebrate over a restaurant meal. Luckily, Philadelphia bursts with places where the food and atmosphere lend themselves to living it up. Grab dinner and a jazz show at a swinging North Broad Street faithful. Opt for a quieter night at a critically acclaimed, plant-based gem in Midtown Village. Or splurge on a swanky steakhouse that presides over a corner of Rittenhouse Park. Whether you’re after an intimate spot for an anniversary date or a convivial atmosphere for a boisterous reunion, Philadelphia has you covered with these 12 celebration-worthy restaurants.
