- BBobPhiladelphia County •7 reviews5.0Dined 1 day agoMy Terrain Burger was excellent, as were the Truffle fries. I get it every time! My wife ordered the whole wheat pasta entree, felt the portion was a little small and not quite as hot as it should have been.More infoTerrain Cafe – Glen MillsPrice: Moderate• Contemporary American• Glen Mills•4.4

- DDaraVIPPhiladelphia County •143 reviews5.0Dined 4 days agoDinner at White Dog Cafe Glen Mills tonight was AWESOME! We had two family friends with us, who are husband and wife, and have had been going through a rough time after the loss of their son, so this was a good escape for them. Anthony was our waiter, he was fun to talk with as always! For drinks, Mom had water, Dad and I had soda, and our friends had Cokes, one diet and one regular with lemon. For appetizers, Mom and Dad ordered the Squash Bisque, with roasted pumpkin seeds and chilli oil: they really enjoyed it as always! The wife friend and I ordered the French Onion Soup, which was served with sourdough bread, Swiss, and provolone cheeses. It was yummy! For the main course, Dad ordered the Koch Farms Hot Turkey Sandwich, which had whole roasted turkey, cranberry-orange chutney, and herb turkey gravy, served on white bread, with a side of plain fries. It was like Thanksgiving dinner in a sandwich! He liked it! I ordered the White Dog Double Cheddar Burger, with just cheese and grilled red onions, and without the Green Meadow Farm Smoked Bacon Mayo, bibb lettuce and tomato, served on a brioche bun with a side of fries. We also ordered a side of the Roasted Brussels Sprouts, which were served with Pennsylvania maple dressing and bacon. They were so delicious, I took the rest home! The husband friend got the burger with everything. and a side of fries. The wife friend got the same burger but without the brioche bun, and a side of fries. Mom ordered the Vegan Cheese Burger, her favorite! It had double smashed patties, vegan cheddar cheese, caramelized onions, adobo steak sauce, romaine lettuce, and mushroom "bacon," all served on a sweet potato bun with a side of fries. She enjoyed it! dessert, Dad ordered two scoops of vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup, and a cookie on top. Our friends and I ordered the Vanilla Bean Crème Brûlée, served with a shortbread cookie on top. The new manager, Dan, was very friendly. Thanks for dinner! See you again soon!More infoWhite Dog Cafe Glen MillsPrice: Moderate• American• Glen Mills•4.5

12 of Philadelphia’s outstanding spots for celebrating special occasions
Maybe you got engaged on the steps at the Philadelphia Museum of Art or just picked up the keys to your first rowhouse. It could be that your kid is (finally) toilet trained, or that your noisy neighbor moved away. Sometimes, simply surviving another Tuesday can be an occasion to celebrate over a restaurant meal. It doesn’t have to be fancy. What makes an occasion special isn’t an arbitrary date on the calendar—it’s the decision to celebrate. Luckily, Philadelphia bursts with places where the food and atmosphere lend themselves to living it up. Grab dinner and a jazz show at a swinging North Broad Street faithful. Opt for a quieter night at a critically acclaimed, plant-based gem in Midtown Village. Or splurge on a swanky steakhouse that presides over a corner of Rittenhouse Park. Whether you’re after an intimate spot for an anniversary date or a convivial atmosphere for a boisterous reunion, Philadelphia has you covered with these 12 celebration-worthy restaurants.
