We ordered the Chicken Taverna, My cosmo was made perfectly by Tyler who was the bartender and was also doubling as our waiter. I have been here many times both for lunch and for dinner. - OTOpenTable DinerPhiladelphia County •2 reviews5.0Dined 6 days agoI can not say enough. It was a brunch for my dad’s 75th bday. I was running late because my son’s nurse called out. He is handicapped and has many medical needs. They allowed my family to be seated so they didn’t have to be wait in the cold (my father and aunt walk with canes as well). My son’s kidcart (wheelchair/stroller) had to be kept outside the tent and it started to rain and they came with bags and covered it for me. I didn’t ask them to do so. The food was excellent. The staff was very courteous. These things may not seem like big deals but when you have a child with special needs they are really huge things. Thank you so much!More infoTerrain Cafe – Glen MillsPrice: Moderate• Contemporary American• Glen Mills•4.4

12 of Philadelphia’s outstanding spots for celebrating special occasions
Maybe you got engaged on the steps at the Philadelphia Museum of Art or just picked up the keys to your first rowhouse. It could be that your kid is (finally) toilet trained, or that your noisy neighbor moved away. Sometimes, simply surviving another Tuesday can be an occasion to celebrate over a restaurant meal. It doesn’t have to be fancy. What makes an occasion special isn’t an arbitrary date on the calendar—it’s the decision to celebrate. Luckily, Philadelphia bursts with places where the food and atmosphere lend themselves to living it up. Grab dinner and a jazz show at a swinging North Broad Street faithful. Opt for a quieter night at a critically acclaimed, plant-based gem in Midtown Village. Or splurge on a swanky steakhouse that presides over a corner of Rittenhouse Park. Whether you’re after an intimate spot for an anniversary date or a convivial atmosphere for a boisterous reunion, Philadelphia has you covered with these 12 celebration-worthy restaurants.

Many are attached to restaurant kitchens that turn out the kind of top-notch food that put Philadelphia on the culinary map. The city’s drinking dens have you covered, whether your tastes skew classic or trendy, whiskey or vodka, domestic or imported. Grab a friend—plus a barstool—and explore this town by way of its best watering holes.

Discover Winterthur
Winterthur is home to the Winterthur Museum, Garden, and Library, which is dedicated to Americana, including art, antiques and research materials. The museum also houses the only eateries in town. Both of the restaurants are cafes, serving breakfast and lunch. One venue offers a garden view while the other is housed inside a cottage with a patio. You can grab a light snack and enjoy classic American fare before you get back to the museum. On special occasions, Winterthur hosts prix fixe brunches that are popular with the locals. These brunches feature higher end fare, like farm-to-table salads, omelets, meats and pastas.
