                                                                                                                                I’ve been dining at Nick&Sam’s since they opened in 1999. I’ve had many wonderful birthdays, friends birthdays and nights just having drinks in the bar. I moved from Dallas to Austin 15 years ago so haven’t been there as frequently as I used to. This year for my birthday I dined here again and let me tell you this place is still AMAZING! From the moment I walked in the door, I was greeted with upbeat smiles and Happy Birthday. Every interaction was met with a smile and professionalism. The food, so very delicious! My filet was cooked to perfection, the Damn good fries are just that damn good. Served piping hot, crunchy and soft inside. The mushrooms wonderful as well. Excellent wine list, anything you pick, you won’t be disappointed. The service is 10 out of 10! It was an amazing night, sitting in a booth which I had requested with my friend who ordered the exact same items. Nick&Sam’s I’ll love you forever. Thank you for making my birthday dinner so special!

                                                                                                                                We did not get seated until 7:30 and we had a 6:30 reservation. Asked for booth in main dining. This was a birthday celebration. They tried to seats at 7:20 to a small table literally 3 feet from the kitchen. Loud and chaotic. We refused that table. It was a special occasion, and we finally got our booth at 7:30. Great waitor but huge disappointment in the scheduling. We have eaten here many times over the years. Never received this pour of treatment. Unfortunate. We have always loved this place.

Pretty bad each waiter has to carry flashlights in order to see the menu. Not much space between tables. Service was great. The ribeye was OUTSTANDING! One of the best in town. Wife’s filet was just okay. Smoked/grilled octopus is a must try. 7 layer cake is huuuge. Great place to celebrate. But not recommended for a cozy date night.

                                                                                                                                Twyla was our server and she was amazing! The sommelier also helped us pick out a wine to go with our dinner and could not have been better. We had the lobster roll and seafood tower for two and the brought us caviar on the house. For entrees we did the tomahawk ribeye, fries with steamed spinach and wonton mee and everything was delicious. Been here a few times and every time it's a great experience but somehow it gets better every time!
