Nostrana—literally ours—invokes local. Simple food from honest ingredients. Pure, regional, Italian. Opened in 2005, Nostrana is Chef/Owner Cathy Whims’ love letter to Italy. This is a restaurant built on relationships: with our amazing farmers and purveyors, our dedicated staff, and of course with you, our guest.

We hope to offer something timeless and authentic in a beautiful space, the regional specialties of Italy deeply rooted in the Pacific Northwest. We strive to be better every day.

We're currently reserving indoor tables and bar seating. When available, outdoor patio reservations may be subject to weather disruptions.

A Service Charge of 22% is applied to all checks at Nostrana, providing a professional and equitable wage for all team members.

First time visiting this restaurant, it was amazing- and what a way to spend our New Year’s Eve. Sydney at the bar top notch service! You made our night very special just by being you!! Every bite of food was delightful- oysters were some of our favorite we’ve had here in Portland. We will be back !

Really happy we rang in the NY at Nostrana. Our server, Sergio, remembered us and did an incredible job taking care of us. The meal was memorable and the n/a drinks delicious. We loved the “2025” touch on the ice cube. Only a couple things that kept me from giving all the stars: 1) Where we sat we were freezing and felt the cold air coming in from the entry. Had to keep our coats on through dinner. 2) Dessert didn’t match the meal. The lemon almond cake in particular was way too sweet. I think that the desserts needed a finer touch. Overall, a lovely night out and appreciate the quality of food and service.

A perfect dinner (seated at counter) at Nostrana. Went on a Thursday - gnocchi night. I usually don’t choose gnocchi, but am now a convert - so pillowy and tender, and the clam sauce I chose was buttery, seasoned greatness. Our server was friendly, warm, and efficient and suggested an alternative wine by the glass that was from next door that was so good we bought a bottle to take home. Consistently amazing, and impressed my husband for date night.
