   I’ve been to this restaurant once before, 40 years ago and it still met my expectations. For appetizers, my wife had the wedge salad and raved about the blue cheese dressing while I had 6 raw oysters in half shell. For dinner we both had the BBQ shrimp which is what we went there for and it didn’t disappoint. They kept that delicious French bread coming and we finished 2 loaves. After all that we managed to split a bread pudding for dessert. While they were out of the wine we initially ordered, they recommended a different one that was equally as enjoyable.

   Pascal’s Manale is one of those iconic New Orleans restaurants that you must try when you visit. It is a regular spot for locals, which says a lot about the place. The food never disappoints and our server was outstanding.

   Delicious main but the sides were lacking. Definitely a classic old restaurant but needs a little love

   The service was very slow and the waiter seemed completely disinterested. Even with a reservation we had to wait 15 minutes for our table. Then no apologies or concessions were offered even though we waited over 20 minutes for our drinks and an hour for our food. Cocktails are mediocre and the food is old school and just ok. We had 2 orders of Oysters Rockefeller and while the first order was quite good, the second was very different - undercooked, not broiled, and not hot. The eggplant Dryades, veal Parmesan and a seafood pasta were good but nothing special. If we ever return, it will ONLY be to go to the bar/oyster counter.
