    We had an amazing time. The service was absolutely fantastic. Thank you Shannon! There were 4 of us. We ordered meatballs and pork belly apps. Cesar salads (we got 2 and they split them for us in the kitchen) - good sizes. All delicious. For entrée we had, short ribs, sirloin steak, Kansas City steak and twin petit filet mignon. All perfectly cooked and very tasty. We complimented the meals with asparagus, spinach and hash browns. For dessert we got ice cream, chocolate explosion and key lime. All very good as well. This is the type of experience we look for when we get together every month for dinner! We shall return!

    As a frequent diner at 80 Thoreau I was a little concerned about their menu changes. Last night we tried 4 “Smalls” and 1 “Medium” from their menu. Ian helped w our choices and Andrew selected a great wine to accompany pur varied menu. Yellow fin tuna crudo, Poached lobster in bisque foam, Bay scallops w green apple and Duck consommé w duck confit. Each serving was small but delicious. Then the Medium option was divided for us. Paccheri-Beef, pancetta, fennel w Parmigiano Reggiano finished our outstanding dining experience. Bravo 80 Thoreau!

    We had the chilli and the clam chowder. The power lunch salad was good, especially with the salmon. The greens were fresh and the salmon a good size. The service was very good. Overall, a great experience.

    I'm going to start this review by saying that I know that the federal is a steak house. And the steak, beef Wellington and appetizer dishes are amazing! But I do expect high quality from the other dishes on the menu. The single vegetarian entree on the menu is a vegetable pasta (pasta Genovese), and it was terrible. Flavorless and swimming in an oily sauce. I usually don't expect variety in vegetarian food at a steakhouse, but I don't expect to not be able to actually eat the dish.
