Best Restaurants that are Worth The Drive in Midway

Malone's is always a good choice. The food is tasty, amount of food plentiful & nice atmosphere. Parking can be a challenge at the Palomar location but it's a big parking lot & you will find a place. We celebrated a birthday & were treated to a dessert. The wait for our order seemed a little long. Unfortunately, just as they were bringing the tray out, there was a mishap & the tray went crashing to the floor! Apologies were made & a rush put on the order. Eventually we received our order & everything was great. We all had take home boxes.

This was our second time at Holly Hill. Our first was on our wedding night and our second was for our first wedding anniversary. As soon as we walked in the door we were greeted by the hostess and taken to our table. We were then greeted by Alicia who remembered us from our first visit, she quickly made us feel as if we were at her home for dinner. The food was delicious and elegantly presented. We started with the chèvre, it did not disappoint, we were immediately reminded of why we wanted to come back. The rabbit paella was perfectly balanced with multiple layers of savory and earthy flavors. Every ingredient was cooked perfectly, from the rice to the escargot. Very impressed by the attention to detail and execution of a dish like that where if one individual ingredient is over or under cooked it can throw a whole dish off. Not at Holly Hill it was technically executed perfectly. The apple stack cake was the perfect way to end our dinning experience, hands down the best anything Apple we have ever had. The moisture of the cake, balance of the not overly sweet layers and a texture packed topping that brought it all together well done kitchen. All of the food as impressive as it was, was equally met with the same precision form the front of the house. Alicia and the rest of the team that we engaged with were always very professional and courteous. The constant flow of someone checking on us, filling water, giving us fresh silverware and clearing plates were always done right on time and never in an awkward engagement. If we didn’t live 5 states away we would be dinning at Holly Hill weekly. We are very grateful for Alicia and the culinary staff at Holly Hill who helped us celebrate our special evening once again.

We had small plates, the arancini excellent, the smoked salmon charcuterie mediocre. Cachaca martini - a bit dirty was very good indeed, and an IPA was also quite good. It was a Wednesday night, so it was a enjoyable peaceful meal.

Dakota was our server. She was great. The food was great.

Fun place for lunch between distillery tours. Very convenient.
