Owned and operated by John Crook and his partner Erik Heck, The Flying Pig Yaletown is referred to as a nouveau Canadian bistro in the community for its fresh, local ingredients and quality food. The restaurant opened for business in August 2011 and is known for its contemporary Canadian and seafood specials. It has a nice décor comprising of a combination of dark and light colored wooden furniture, along with brick style and white painted walls. The ambiance is casual and welcoming, and customers prefer to have brunch, lunch and dinner here.The Flying Pig Yaletown has separate menus for dinner, lunch, brunch and happy hour. There is also a wine & beverage list featuring different types of drinks from the restaurant's full bar.     Nice dining experience and the dishes are creative. Noteworthy for me is the lamb skewers cooked to perfection , crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and the XO risotto, the umami of the XO sauce nicely complements the richness the risotto. However, the steak fell short for me. Although it was grilled on both sides, the steak was cold. I like my steaks medium-rare but this steak felt like a rare.

    Absolutely fantastic experience! The hosts were so kind and attentive, and made it a personal experience for us. We weren’t rushed at all, and the food and ambiance was great. We had the chefs tasting menu and it was pricy, but I think it was one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. I’d highly recommend it!
