Located in historic Blagden Alley in D.C.'s Shaw neighborhood since 2015, The Dabney continues to pay tribute to the wonderful farmers, watermen, and purveyors of the mid-Atlantic region whom provide some of the best and most unique products in the country.     Although the meals are a little pricey, the ambiance and the staff are super. They have plenty of staff that move through the restaurant in a precise choreographic manner, with great attention paid to the customers. No one is standing around and everyone has their unique assignments. Edgar, our wait staff was exceptional, thoroughly explaining the different dish options and very knowledgable about the wine pairings. The food is excellent along with the wine pairings. There is a choice between a four and seven-course meal. While they say each course is small, it is still quite a lot of food. We barely got through the four-course meal. The wine pairings were also very good and well-matched with each course. They told us that they pour 2 ounces of wine per course, but it is a very generous 2 ounces. And definitely do not miss the desserts. They are light and exceptionally delicious. Excellent place for an intimate date or special occasion with your spouse. Highly recommend it.

    I can’t get over how incredible our server was. Elvis immediately acknowledged that we were vegetarians and had accommodations made for even the fixed Valentine’s Day menu. We truly appreciate it. And not to forget, but the food was incredible. I would go back and eat an entire bowl of the beet salata

    Everything was wonderful. It's a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for. Our servicer was wonderful and the manager helped my mom who is on a walker to get our of her chair. I felt so good taking my mom here and the food was so clean and tasty. The ingredients was perfect, not too much seasoning and too little just perfect. I will definitely go back again.

    My wife and I had the pleasure of meeting Chef Lee, who was incredibly kind and took the time to personally greet everyone. The staff were just as welcoming, demonstrating excellent communication and attentiveness. The atmosphere struck a perfect balance between modern elegance and cozy warmth. The course meal exceeded all expectations—each dish was thoughtfully designed with exceptional taste, creativity, and a seamless flow of service. The alcohol pairing was also expertly curated, enhancing the overall experience. What stood out most was Chef Lee’s dedication to sustainability in his restaurant. I recommend visiting the website prior to your visit to understand his intent with the non-profit org. His vision is truly inspiring, and I deeply respect his ambition.     Fabulous night! Our Waiter Trish was very welcoming, make us feel like home! She guide us through the menu very well and carefully for us to make the best experience. We have some wings, popcorn shrimp, with some extra dirty sauce, ( no to spicy for my taste ) but delicious. Tuna tartare and the Dirty fry chicken on point to enjoy it the southern taste. Kudos to Trish for take care of us and make our night unforgettable. Until next time! Thank you for the meal.
