Best Historic Restaurants in Cobble Hill

Our dining experience at this charming restaurant was nothing short of delightful. The rich history of the establishment added a unique and inviting atmosphere, complemented by its cozy ambiance. The drink menu was exceptional, featuring standout options like the Paper Plane, which is a personal favorite and is listed as one of their signature cocktails. The Spicy Margarita was equally impressive, offering a perfect balance of heat and flavor. To start, the pear salad was a refreshing and flavorful choice, setting the tone for the meal. However, the true highlight of the evening was the pot pie. The crust was impeccably flaky and golden, while the filling was rich, savory, and utterly satisfying. My wife and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary at Hawksmoor last night. The ambience, service and the food were exceptional. For appetizers we had the scallops ( best dish of the night ) and the potted beef. For our main we went with the porterhouse for two and the beef fat fries. Steak was cooked perfectly and the fries were amazing. For dessert we had the pavlova and a anniversary surprise.

My kids (9 and 11) took the lead on this brunch review. They insisted we need to add it to our NY rotation. My son was especially appreciative of the cookie with the candle at the end for his birthday. The grown ups loved it too, food, view, vibe and service.

I normally wouldn't leave Ft. Greene for a restaurant, but this Mexican place had dairy free/gluten free (assuming you can have pure corn). Ruta Oaxaca really decorated so fabulous for Valentine's Day. They printed the specials menu on paper with hearts. This graphic designer appreciates these extras. Then they had a special pink mescal drink for the day and an alcohol-free Corona. There were other alcohol-free drinks on the menu but they were sold out. Sweet, but not cloying so (unless you eat the candy decoration they put in it). They put together a special Valentine's day menu. I had the chicken breast sitting in sauce made of delicious black beans, corn and Mexican black mole sauce. I love black mole so I was in heaven. My wife had verde chicken enchiladas and was equally pleased. We had tea and then got a box for the leftovers. We'll definitely be back. Ruta Oaxaca, please put a chicken & mole dish with cheese optional on the regular menu!

The burger was FANTASTIC! The pizza was delicious! 10/10!
